Who are we?
Unique stay
At 't Landgoed Baars, you can stay in one of the most beautiful places in the Netherlands. You will stay in a sustainable Cottage that is super insulated with 3-layer (HR++) glass, outer walls consisting of no less than 14 layers and emission-free heating. The Cottages feature a country-style kitchen with Nespresso machine, induction hob, oven, fridge and freezer compartment. The bathroom has Rituals toiletries and a lovely rain shower. Would you like to keep your bicycle dry and warm and be able to recharge it? It is possible to rent an outhouse with it!
Wooded area
The park 't Landgoed Baars is in full development and is situated in a beautiful spot amidst the woods. Do you like hiking, cycling, mountain biking or running? You can do all that right from your recreation cottage. Directly at the holiday park you will find hundreds of kilometres of cycling and walking paths, in addition you can try out the technical mountain bike route Steenwijk (route runs alongside the park) or go to Havelte, Fredriksoord or Staphorst to test the challenging routes!
Giethoorn and surroundings
A 15-minute drive from 't Landgoed Baars you will find the picturesque town of Giethoorn. Here you can rent a 100% electric E-sloop, walk along the car-free zone and visit cosy shops/terraces. Giethoorn consists of all small islands connected to the mainland by 176 bridges. Giethoorn is characterised by its thatched-roofed farmhouses from the 18th and 19th centuries. Besides Giethoorn, the villages Dwarsgracht and Belt-Schutsloot are also great fun to visit. These villages are close to Giethoorn and less touristy. Very nice to combine!
UNESCO World Heritage Site Fredriksoord
Since 26 July 2021, the unique village of Fredriksoord has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This village is located about 10km from the holiday park 't Landgoed Baars. Here, the story of the Colonies is told and the old traces of this Colony can be discovered while walking and cycling. At the museum the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid you can learn the story of the origins of our welfare state during a multimedia time travel.
